San Antonio Public Art Mural for Abortion Access

We teamed up with Mayday Health, Essentials Creative, and artist Kat Cadena to unveil a public art mural in San Antonio, Texas. The mural was created as a deliberate intervention in a state where access to abortion care and accurate reproductive health information is increasingly restricted.

Installed in the very central location of Karolinas Antiques, the mural responds to the aggressive censorship of abortion and reproductive health access and information in the state of Texas, a state with some of the most extreme abortion bans in the country. In a climate where people fear criminalization for seeking or sharing information, silence and scarcity keep communities isolated and unsure of where to turn.

The mural makes clear that people can still access accurate abortion information through Mayday, and that community support and information sharing remain possible. In this context, visibility becomes a form of protection, resistance, and power when the stakes are this high.
